A harness for your dog is a great safety device while traveling in your car.  The dog is securely fastened to a fixed, secure point, usually the seat belt apparatus.  The dog has a certain amount of freedom to move about but not access to the front seat.  Some are made of semi stretching material which gives a little bit and acts like a shock absorber in a sudden stop.  The harnesses are well padded and designed so as not to choke the dog.  They are easily installed in all cars.  They come in various sizes for dogs and cats too.

Strolling harnesses, are made of durable nylon and are very strong.  They fasten around the body, not the neck and are used primarily for walking dogs.  When a dog pulls, the resistance does not cause choking.  They discourage the dog from pulling on its lead.  They are best suited for the larger sized dogs.

There are many harnesses designed to discourage lunging and pulling excessively hard.  They come in various sizes and you shouldn’t have any difficulty finding a suitable one for your dog.
